The Music Camps in 2009 and 2010 were met with widespread acclaim and enthusiasm. Don’t take our word for it though – we asked two of the attendees what they thought!
What did you learn at music camp?
Cyndie – I learned about rhythm and beats and sometimes even new songs on the piano. I also learned that I can sing in soprano. Oh and we learned about the stage positions.
Cassie – I learned different songs and learned how to play more songs on the piano. Also learned how to play the guitar.
Is Music camp fun?
Cyndie – Yes, music camp is soooo much fun because we get to show off our talent and things we learned in only 5 days at the end of the week to the parents and family members who came.
Cassie – Yes music camp is so much fun. I love coming back because you get to do so many things and you also get to meet tons of new friends.
Is music camp worthwhile to attend?
Cyndie – Yes because you meet really great people and you get to do a concert at the end of the week. You get to do a little play and sing some awesome songs. Also maybe play the instrument you came to learn at the concert like the song you got taught.
Cassie – Yes it is because you get to meet different friends and get to learn how to do drama. Also you get to learn how to sing in a choir, different instruments and songs on which instrument you play.
What is your favourite part of music camp?
Cyndie – My favourite part is everything because it is really awesome to learn new things and do new things there each year.
Cassie – Doing drama, learning new songs to play on the piano and love to sing in the choir. I just love everything as you can see.
What does it mean to you to be able to attend a camp like this?
Cyndie – It means a lot to me because I think it is interesting learning about different things on the piano and also learn new songs that I can sing too and also new instruments too.
Cassie – It means so much to me to attend music camp you get to learn so much in just a week and also you get to meet lots of new friends.

This Independent Living Skills camp is an exceptional opportunity for our children to grow with confidence in their own abilities. They, along with their parents, can request specific skill sets to be focused on during the camp. Examples might include cooking breakfast, cleaning the bathroom, or doing laundry. The camp is staffed by awesome skilled professionals who will ensure training is specialized, high-quality, and completed. Camp Freedom offers a unique experience where personal goals are incorporated into the programming, and we can all come together and improve social, recreational, and leisure skills.
